A few years ago, I was asked by a fan whether one of my strips at the time was making a political statement. I have to admit, none of my comics have ever been symbolic of anything, nor have they tried to relay coded political messages.
But every day since then, I wonder whether it’d be fun to hint that some of the more bizarre strips have political undertones. This strip is definitely one of them I’d like to pass off. Claiming that the pile of writhing babies represents some abstract political concept (health care/the proletariat/the national debt) seems like enough fun… If I could get someone to actually believe that I was serious, well… I think I’d win some sort of trophy.

The situation is so babies, it’s Babies McIntyre.
Now that’s a lot of babies. Talk about aborting!
I dunno… they look like the 47% to me. Not paying taxes and dependent on others.
ooh, good one CryptoKnight! Plus, they expect to crawl their way to the top.
The Pile o’ Babies is HILARIOUS.
Hilarious and adorable. What else could you ask for?
The baby store?
I wonder if there’s a discount aisle at the baby store.
Oh no’s….that’s a lot of babies. Too many even.
I guess Chester thought it was just the right amount.
Beware the tidal wave of babies.
