Two cartoonists I admire are coming out with books in the near future; I recommend you check out their work.

First, Craig Thompson‘s newest book, Habibi, will be coming out tomorrow after six years in the making. His previous work is absolutely breathtaking, and his talent with a brush is amazing. I’ve been looking forward to getting my paws on his new book for quite some time. For those of you unfamiliar with his work, I highly recommend either of his previously released books: the widely-praised, award-winning Blankets, as well as his lesser-known first book, Goodbye, Chunky Rice.

Secondly, webcomicker Dan Long has started accepting pre-orders for the first compiled book of his webcomic, Edmund Finney’s Quest to Find the Meaning of Life. If you haven’t seen his work before, I highly suggest you wander over to his website and read a bit. You’ll most likely be hooked within a few strips.
